Mayda, the first Armenian feminist book

This first feminist novel, published in 1883, is now available in English translation for the first time. The pioneering author, Srpuhi Dussap, advocated an equal role for women in the traditional Armenian society of Istanbul through this controversial novel of romance, betrayal, and reconciliation.
